In my Japanese 1 class we are forming a fundraiser for Japan.
We are collecting donations from all of the homerooms in our school,
which goes from 6th to 12th grade.
For every donation we make a paper crane and put the donors initials on them,
after we make the cranes we string them onto a string and
put them as decorations around the school.
Everyone prays for Japan and wants to pitch in to help.
The money we collect will be sent to Japan to buy supplies
and any other necessities that Japan needs.
I'm 14 years old and half Japanese
and it's been very hard for me to see Japan in the state
it's in right now but I know that the Japanese people are the strongest people
I know and that they will get through this with dignity and grace.
I'm proud to have Japanese blood running through my veins,
I'm proud of Japan.
I'm proud that throughout the chaos of what's happening
in there the Japanese go on with their days without a single complaint.
They work hard everyday but right now they are working even harder.
It's time for us to work as hard as them and help them as much as we can.
I'm proud that I can say I'm Japanese,
I hope that when I grow older I can go through tough times
with as much dignity and grace as they do.
I pray every hour, minute, and second for Japan to heal.
In the end, I know it will be able to heal itself.
Because if anyone can get through this, it's the Japanese.

私達の日本人クラスでは日本のための募金を作り、
6年生(12歳)から12年生(18歳)の全てのホームルームで募金を集めています。
全ての募金に折り鶴を作り、募金者のイニシャルを入れています。
その鶴に糸で繋げて学校の周りを飾っています。
みんなが日本のために祈り、ピンチを救いたいと思っています。
集めたお金は食糧や日本で必要な物資を買う為に送られます。
私は14歳で日本人のハーフです。
私にとって今の日本での惨状をみる事はとても辛いです。
でも、私は知っています、日本人は最も強く、
この事態を尊厳と気高さを持って終結させるでしょう。
私は自分に日本人の血が流れている事を誇りに思い、日本を誇りに思います。

この大変だった時間が尊厳と気高さにより終結している事を願います。
私は、毎時、毎分、毎秒、日本が救われる事を願っています。
終わりに、私は日本が救われる事を知っています。
なぜならそれができるのが日本人だからです！
